God's
Plan of Salvation:
Are
you sure you're going to Heaven when you die?
John 3:5 reads, Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no
one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the
Spirit. [6] Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to
spirit. [7] You should not be surprised at my saying,
`You must be born again.'
In the Bible God
provides us with his plan of salvation
(to be born again). His plan is simple. You
can be saved today,
please read on.
First you must realize you a sinner.
"for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God," Romans 3:23
Because
you are a sinner, you are condemned to death.
"For
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our
Lord." Romans 6:23 This death includes eternal
separation from
God.
But God loves you and has a plan of salvation
"For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
So all you have to do
is believe in Jesus? God
made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of
God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
What did Jesus have to do so that I could be
saved?
Jesus had to shed His
blood and die.
For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you
to make atonement for yourselves on the altar;
it is the blood that makes atonement for one's
life. (Leviticus
17:11) In fact, the law
requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and
without the shedding of blood there is
no forgiveness.
(Hebrews 9:27) But God
demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8) Although we may not
understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus
and
he died in our place.
What must I do to be saved?
This is the same
question the Philippian jailer asked Paul and
Silas and "They replied Believe
in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved..."
(Acts 16:31) You must understand that, "In the past God overlooked such ignorance,
but now he commands all people everywhere to
repent."
(Romans 17:30) This repentance is a change of
mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with
what Jesus
did for us on the cross.
Simply believe on Him
as the one who bore your sin, died in
your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His
resurrection assures
that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as
Lord and
Savior. for, "Everyone
who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved." (Romans 10:13) The everyone
includes you!
God's promise is that you will be saved, not maybe, not as long as, but
will
be saved.
So,
if you realize your a sinner, then right now, wherever
your sitting, lift your heart to God in prayer and repent. If
you like
follow this simple prayer:
Lord,
I know that
I'm a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when he died
on the cross. I believe his shed blood, death, burial, and
resurrection were for me. I now receive him as my
Savior. I thank you for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift
of salvation and everlasting life, because of your merciful grace.
Amen
Just take God at his
word and claim his salvation by faith.
Believe and you will be saved. No church membership,
ceremonial acts, or good works can save you. God alone does
all the
saving. "Thanks be to God
for his indescribable gift!"
(2 Corinthians 9:15)
If you're not sure
about what you've just read, read it again,
ask God to help you understand, send me an
email,
but don't delay. Your soul is worth more than all the
world. "What good is it
for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
(Mark 8:36)
Once you are saved,
there are three things you should begin to
practice daily for spiritual growth: Pray,
Read your Bible, and find a good
Bible-believing church home.
